Day 1
Arrival in Phnom Penh – Check in
Welcome to Cambodia. On arrival at the Phnom Penh International Airport, you will be greeted by your Driver cum Guide outside the baggage hall area at the airport. Transfer to the hotel & check-in. (Standard Check in time after 1500Hrs).
Later in the afternoon, you will be transferred to board a scenic sunset cruise on the Mekong and Tonle Sap rivers. This cruise offers stunning views of Phnom Penh’s skyline, riverfront landmarks, stilted houses, and fishing villages. The cruise is self-guided and does not include drinks or an onboard guide, giving guests a relaxed, unhurried experience to simply enjoy the peaceful river and sunset ambiance.
Overnight in Phnom Penh.
Day 2
City Tour of Phnom Penh – Drive to Battambang
This morning after buffet breakfast check-out meet your driver at the hotel lobby. Proceed to
Visit the Royal Palace the official residence of the King of Cambodia.
Visit Independence Monument (Vimean Ekareach) built in 1958 as a memorial to Cambodia's war dead and to celebrate independence from foreign rule, the monument stands majestically on the intersection of Norodom Boulevard and Sihanouk Boulevard in the centre of the city.
Visit Wat Phnom Temple a small hill crowned by an active Wat (Pagoda) marks the legendary founding place of the Phnom Penh.
Later we drive to Battambang.
Day 3
Battambang – Bamboo Train – Drive to Siem Reap
This morning after buffet breakfast check-out meet your driver at the hotel lobby.
We will start to the Bamboo Train Station where we take a ride on a train made from bamboo. We then stop at Wat Kor village to meet the owners of a traditional Khmer house that dates back to the 1920s. Here, we find out how this stunning wooden stilted home survived the Khmer Rouge regime. Then we set off on a discovery of the local countryside and explore surrounding Cambodian villages. We will see first-hand artisans, such as sculptors, rice wine brewers and noodle and rice paper producers open up their homes and workshops so we can watch them at work. The tour will take you to some of Battambang’s architectural highlights, including Battambang Provincial Hall, Battambang Post Office, built by the French administration between 1907 and 1926, Central Market, Psar Nat and the Museum
Later we drive to Siem Reap.
Day 4
Tour of Angkor Wat Complex – Apsara Show
This morning after buffet breakfast meet your driver at the hotel lobby and proceed to visit Siem Reap.
- Visit the Angkor Wat Temple Complex; a replica of the universe according to the Hindu mythology, we visit Bayon and its hundreds of giant carved faces; 11th century Baphoun; Hindu temple, Baksei Chamkrong; and Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Watch the sunset over the Cambodian countryside from the upper terraces of an ancient Angkorian temple.
- See Apsara Show; a traditional Cambodian dance perfomance showcasing classical dances inspired by ancient royal courts.
Day 5
Kbal Spean or Banteay Srei – Floating Village
This morning after buffet breakfast, we’ll explore beyond Angkor temples and head towards to Kbal Spean through rooting/rocky path to see the series of sandstone formation carved under the river, which was built during Angkor period. We stroll round the riverbed of 1000 linga carvings admired small river and its waterfall (seasonal). Resume the journey to unlock the intricately carved, beautiful red-pink sandstone temple of Banteay Srei which was a Jewel of Khmer art which features elaborate decorations and its finest details. These factors have made the temple extremely popular with tourists and have led to its being widely praised as a “precious gem”. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit a Floating Village on Tonle Sap Lake, such as Kampong Phluk or Chong Kneas. Experience the unique lifestyle of communities living in stilted and floating homes. Enjoy a boat ride through the village and flooded forest, observing how locals adapt to the changing water levels of Southeast Asia's largest freshwater lake.
